He had moved to Glasgow by 1842 and to London in 1848

passed through the same family of Russian descent since the very early 1900's

The bracket finely carved with an eagle in flight and having carved walnuts below

The painting is in excellent condition and is housed in a gilded gesso frame

by Albert Horatio Slade (1843-1922)

To the front are two wide & deep file drawers to store drawings blueprints & each drawer has two recessed 'campaign' style brass handles. To each side is drawer to store pens, pencils and other drafting materials, the front of the drawers are carved
