I only recently came across another example of an antique oil cloth ball like this one

The armadillo measures 7 1/2" long x 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/8" wide

A little wear around the edges including a little light creasing along the left edge

but I've found it rare to find ones that elevate gluing to shells onto a box to something that feels like an art form
